Another fantastic turn out for this month’s Sundowner with around 80 Chamber members flocking to the HOME Improvement Centre, to hear from two of Margaret River’s most respected family owned businesses.
Paul Brown of HOME Timber and Hardware gave a great update on the business and how their expanding Improvement Centre is supporting local builders and the trade industry.
Shire President, Cr. Ian Earl gave an update on Margaret River Cowaramup Electrical Service, including they’re growth in security surveillance, job creation and apprenticeships for young locals wanting to stay in the region.
Later members also heard from Julien Sanderson of Margaret River Region Open Studios, who noted that last year’s Festival generated 2000 visitors and millions of dollars, including sales of art at around $350,000. This year’s festival involves 127 artists and is set to run from 22 April – 7 May.
Congratulations to the winners of the Chamber wine and HOME Timber and Hardware gift vouchers, and to The Larder who went home with the $500 Triple M advertising voucher!
“A wonderful evening of networking with local businesses, and you don’t get more local than these guys. The Earl and Shepherdson families have been looking after the region for generations.” Al Wilkie, Nexus Bookkeeping
