The second Morning Muster at Morries was another great event featuring delicious tasters and warm brews by the talented team at Morries, along with a Meet, Greet and Q&A with the Shire’s new Sustainable Economy Officer, Saul Cresswell.

Only eight weeks into the role, Saul gave Chamber members an excellent insight into how and why the role was created, his ambitions and eagerness to work with and support local businesses. He also shared his background and credentials, including being both a small business owner and a leader of sustainability projects, followed by an audience Q&A, leading to some great group discussions.

By the end of the presentation, it was clear that Saul is passionate about making a positive difference to the region, protecting our environmental asset and maintaining Margaret River’s diverse and vibrant small business community. As Chamber President Steve Castan said, ‘it’s terrific to have this role in the Margaret River Shire and we believe Saul’s the right person for the job!’

If you’re a local small business owner with an interest in the Shire’s Sustainable Economy Strategy, or if you have feedback that could help Sual turn the Shire’s ‘red tape’ into ‘red carpet’ for businesses, he would love to hear from you. Please contact scresswell@amrshire.wa.gov.au.

Morning Musters at Morries will break over April and resume again in May.
