A huge thank you and congratulations to the team at SportsPower Margaret River who hosted our September MRCCI Sundowner last week, and are celebrating 20 years of business in our town.
About 50 MRCCI members and guests braved the rain and wintery weather to attend the event, including some of our newest members keen to meet some other local business representatives.
SportsPower owner and manager Colin Clark talked to the group about the business’s journey over the last 20 years, starting out in the Margaret River Town Square before moving to their current two-story main street location. Many could relate to the stories Colin told about business going through both good times and tougher times, the importance of having a great team to support you and rewarding dedicated employees (some of Colin’s team have been with him for nearly the whole 20 years!). Colin also talked about his challenges as a retailer in guessing the next season’s trends before they even happen and he shared some interesting insights into dealing with some of the biggest brands in the world.
Guests enjoyed drinks and canapes (supplied by The Larder) with the opportunity to browse through the store.
Thanks to our MC for the night MRCCI Deputy President Melissa Dath. And congratulations to our door prize winners!
Keep an eye out for invitations to our next Sundowner event in October.
