A Maze’n Margaret River began in 1994 with the planting of 2,000 Cupressus Leylandii (Leighton Green) conifers across half a hectare, creating one of Australia’s largest hedge mazes. A café overlooking the maze and gardens followed, and we opened to the public in late 2009.
Today, the maze stands proudly at nearly 3 metres high and is now 31 years old. It sits within 5 hectares of beautifully curated gardens featuring deciduous trees, native species, and rare plantings, many sourced from Kings Park. The gardens continue to evolve with new additions each year.
Visitors can also enjoy an 18-hole mini golf course, a range of outdoor games, puzzles, additional smaller mazes, and a playground with free-use BBQs (with the purchase of a maze ticket).
Our air-conditioned and heated café is open to everyone, not just maze patrons.
