To celebrate the end of another great year, the wonderful crew at Settlers Tavern hosted their annual MRCCI Christmas Party in style, putting on an evening as colourful and vibrant as the Margaret River business community!

The theme of the function was A Touch of Hawaii, and the Tav did an outstanding job setting the scene with a Hawaiian bar, tropical canapes and frozen rose (aka Frose!). Around 100 guests also embraced the spirit, donning leis and floral attire. The best dressed of the night were rewarded with bottles of wine from the Chamber, and the best of the best took home a $100 voucher from the Tav!

Congratulations to the winners!

Di Newton of Margaret River Mahogany Meats – Best Dressed

Sarah and Rob of Life Cycle Bikes – Best Matched Couple

Roz Commings of Down South Camping & Outdoors – Best Headwear

Phill Cronin of William Porteous Properties International – Best Leis

Steven Castan, MRCCI President – Best Hawaiian Song (albeit our only entry!)

In addition to the best dressed rewards, dozens of raffle prizes were also gifted with all proceeds going to Just Home Margaret River. A local, grassroots organisation assisting members of our community facing homelessness. The Chamber was delighted to receive a stack of donations and we extend thanks to all the businesses who captured the Spirit of Christmas and supported this important cause.

As 2018 comes to an end, the Chamber warmly wishes all our members a prosperous festive season and we thank you for another terrific year despite the challenging economy. A special nod goes to those who have hosted a Sundowner, sponsored the Awards, contributed to forums, donated prizes, opened newsletters, supported our community and strengthened relations with each other. Here’s to a great 2019!
