The Spirit of Christmas was certainly captured at the 2017 Annual MRCCI & Settlers Tavern Christmas Party with around 130 members coming together and over $800 raised for local cancer support charity River Angels!
A huge thank you to business community champions Rob and Karen Gough of Settlers Tavern for once again generously hosting this special Chamber event. The setting, food, drinks and service were outstanding. Each year this event gets bigger, better and stronger! It was great to hear an update from Rob and congratulations on the Tav’s 40 year milestone. We look forward to participating in some celebratory events in the New Year.
Thank you to our wonderful MC and Deputy President, Rebecca Hannan, along with Commonwealth Bank Manager and Committee Member, Julie Kiker, who arranged the fundraiser and donated a very special piece of cricket memorabilia. Thank you also to Committee Member and Auctioneer, Phill Cronin, who did a fantastic job working the crowded deck and auctioning the prize, and to Marilyn Smith and Chad Nichols for selling so many raffle tickets!
Thanks to the generous businesses who donated to the raffle – Iris Naturopathic and Skin Clinic, Caves Mechanical Services, Margaret River Distilling Co and the Beer Farm.
Congratulations to the winner of the auction, Harvest Tours, and congratulations also to the winner of the best hat competition and recipient of a $100 Tav voucher, Andrew Frith of Arts Margaret River (as judged by 9 year old Sophie Forte of Little Monsters Play Centre).
An all round fabulous evening and end to a successful year.
