SUMMARY:Brand Story & Content Creation
DESCRIPTION:Build a brand people remember. Create content that actually works. Leave with a plan.\nThere’s no shortage of advice out there about how small businesses should market themselves. Post more stories\, make reels\, send newsletters\, update the website…. and somehow find time to do all of that while also running the actual business. \nThis workshop takes things back a few steps. \nIt starts with setting the foundations of a good brand. Making clear what your business is really about\, who you’re talking to\, and how that story should flow through everything from your design to your tone of voice. \nFrom there\, the focus shifts to content. You’ll look at how to create a cohesive content plan without thinking ‘post by post’\, and will discover how your website\, social media\, newsletters and print can work together rather than as separate platforms that all need feeding. \nThere’ll also be time to map out your content plan for the year ahead\, and build it around the seasons\, events\, and opportunities that matter to businesses here in the Margaret River Region. \nThe workshop will be led by local creative strategist Sophie Mathewson\, who has spent more than 20 years working across storytelling\, film\, content\, and communications\, with organisations ranging from regional businesses and not-for-profits\, to larger organisations in health\, education\, and tourism. \nThis is a hands-on session\, so expect to do some thinking\, scribbling\, planning and working on your own business as we go. \nYou’ll walk away with:\n✨A clearer idea of what your brand stands for and who it’s talking to; \n✨How to get more mileage out of your content across your website\, social media\, newsletters and print; \n✨An annual content plan built around your own business\, the seasons\, and key regional events and opportunities; \n✨The beginnings of a campaign idea for your business; \n✨More confidence doing your own marketing (and a much clearer brief when you do bring in a designer\, photographer\, filmmaker or marketing person). \nBefore you sign up…\n– You’ll need a laptop (pen and paper ok though if that’s how you prefer to work) \n– Access to Excel will be handy for the annual planning exercise \n– If you don’t currently have a website or social media\, the workshop may be a little ahead of where your business is right now. You’re still very welcome to come along\, just be aware that there may be a few things you won’t be able to put into practice immediately.
